Andy is here to provide you with support & assistance

 

Ask for Andy is just one of many gambling harm minimisation practices we have in place. Vikings Group has and always will focus on building a culture of care to ensure our Members and guests feel safe within our clubs. 

For most, gambling is an enjoyable form of entertainment, for some, they have difficulties with their gambling, experiencing negative impacts on themselves and/or loved ones.

  • Andy is caring, approachable, mature, supportive and someone you can lean on to provide support without judgement.

    Andy is our on duty Gambling Contact Officers (GCO), our specially trained staff who are here to support and provide our patrons who may be negatively impacted by gambling with assistance. Each of our clubs always has at least one GCO on duty at all times. Our GCOs undertake training to ensure they’re equipped with the knowledge they need to assist and support you.

    We have over 40 Andy’s across the Vikings Group who are well-equipped to handle and identify gambling harm. 

  • When you ask for Andy, you will be taken to a private space for a cup of tea to have a safe chat with Andy, one of our GCO’s. 

    Andy will offer you the opportunity to discuss how you are being impacted by gambling and can connect with you support services straight away, or that you would like to approach in the future. 

    Andy can also talk with you about our Self-Exclusion program and the support it can provide.

 

  • Andy is available at all four Vikings clubs, whenever you need them. Andy, our GCO officers are on duty at all times to ensure they’re always available to provide support and assistance.

  • Are you spending more time or money gambling than you want to? Are you having less money than you should? Are you having regrets or feeling guilty after gambling? Trying to win back the money you’ve lost? Are you spending less time with the people you care about? Hiding how much time and money you spend on gambling? Gambling when it’s not enjoyable anymore.

    If you answered yes or are feeling unsure about these questions, maybe it’s time to Ask for Andy? Our GCO’s identify gambling harm and support you in finding the next step.

    Our trained staff will regularly check in with all patrons. We hope to continue to build on the trust and confidence between our staff and members. At the Vikings Group, we want our patrons to feel comfortable to be able to reach out if they need.
