CANBERRA CLASSICS WOMEN’s SOFTBALL CLUB
Canberra Classics was established in 1993 as a club for women over 30 with the aim of participating in the Softball ACT women’s competition and local and interstate master’s games, the club’s motto is “participation, encouragement and development for older players of all levels of experience”. The local softball competition is played on Saturday afternoons from October to March, recessing over the Christmas period. Player registration is generally in August/September each year.
While the clubs primary focus remains participation at Master’s competitions, the club is reviewing the age requirement for membership to welcome members over the age of 16, this shift is required for recruitment to, and retention of, the clubs premier team in the local competition. The club’s social grade will still be made up primarily of older players. Classics always welcomes new players, coaches, scorers’ officials and supports. You’re never too old or too inexperienced to be a Classic.
