A message from our CEO, Anthony Hill

I would like to start by thanking our Vikings Community for your ongoing support - the number of calls and emails I have received personally, as well as my staff, from our Members and network reaching out to offer support has been humbling, to say the least.

With the easing of restrictions that the ACT Government announced last week, we are now shifting our focus to what steps we will take next. Myself and the staff cannot wait to open our doors again, walking through our empty Clubs at times has been hard. But I remain positive that when we do, our Vikings Community will shine once again and our Clubs will be the hives of activity they once were (while adhering to COVID restrictions of course).

Unfortunately under the restrictions announced last week, with the 20 person cap per enclosed space, the reality is we will not be able to open all venues. We are working through the options given to us by the ACT Government to be able to provide a quality experience for our members. One of our biggest concerns is having people lining up in the cold of Canberra’s winter only to be turned away because we have reached capacity. When we open we want to do so knowing that we can welcome all of our members back into the Clubs!

So for now, Moo+Brew café at Town Centre will be our only Club to open. Serving a bite to eat and a drink from 8am – 6pm. I encourage you to pop in there and say hi to the staff who are very excited to welcome Members back through their doors under the current restrictions.

The health and safety of our staff, Members, guests and the broader community is paramount and we are working very hard to make adjustments to our Clubs to ensure we are COVID safe when it is practical for us to resume trade.

We will continue to follow government directions and assess what parts of our business can open as changes occur.

So for now, stay safe and well and please keep an eye out on our social channels for updates.
