National Random Acts of Kindness Day | 2022

Thursday 17 February was the National Day for Random Acts of Kindness and we couldn’t help but gravitate towards the staff and call centre volunteers at Lifeline Canberra. So, we organised a little surprise…

Armed with cupcakes from our Chefs at Erindale Vikings and a cash donation on behalf of our Members and staff, we pop into Lifeline Canberra to show our appreciation

During our visit, our People & Culture Manager, Angela, heard some amazing stories, truly highlighting the level of support Lifeline Canberra has provided our Community. “The service your volunteers provide our Members, our staff and our Community at the drop of a hat is literally lifesaving and we can’t thank you enough. Your call centre volunteers are priceless.”

With the number of calls made to the Lifeline Canberra call centre in the last year increasing, Lifeline is always recruiting people to work in their call centre. One volunteer told us “I am overwhelmed at how lucky I am to be here. The training alone has brought me so much pleasure, but to use that training to help Canberrans when they need the support the most – that’s the true reward. It’s a great place to volunteer – and the cupcakes you brought us are an added bonus as well.”
