Meet Samantha Read, a dedicated and hardworking player
This month, we proudly recognise Samantha Read from the Tuggeranong Vikings Hockey Club. A dedicated and hardworking player, Samantha has been a vital part of the club, showcasing her talent and commitment both on the field and at the representative level for ACT.
Her leadership, sportsmanship, and passion for hockey have made her a standout among her peers, and we’re excited to see her continue to excel in her sporting journey.

Meet Meaghann Scott, a phenomenal multi-sport athlete
Meaghann's diverse talents and skills have earned her spots on numerous representative teams, including the Canberra Brindies U18 in touch football, the ACT Cougars U17 in Oztag, the ACT U18 Girls in basketball, and the ACT U17 in netball.
Her exceptional talent and leadership qualities are evident in her roles as co-captain for both her Oztag and Touch Football teams.

Meet Julia Grocott, a exceptional racewalker
We are excited to highlight racewalker Julia Grocott from the South Canberra Tuggeranong Athletics Club in our September Scholarship Spotlight.
Julia has earned recognition by medaling twice at the ACT state championships and representing the ACT in national racewalking championships.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Julia is a dedicated volunteer for her clubs and has committed her time to coaching at Tuggeranong Little Athletics.
This scholarship is truly well-deserved, a big congratulations, Julia.
Meet Sam Smith, an exceptional young cricketer
At just 16, Sam made his first-grade debut for the Tuggeranong Valley Cricket Club and has excelled ever since.
Over the past seven years, Sam has been a standout player for the ACT and NSW Country teams and this summer, he earned a spot on the U17 National Championship team.
Sam’s dedication and talent has earned him the title of 'ACT Junior Cricketer of the Year.' Now, Sam is on the brink of becoming the top run scorer for the Marist Cricket Club.

Meet Luke Granatelli, BMX legend
With 14 years of racing experience with the Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club, Luke has achieved incredible success at state, national, and international levels. In 2023, Luke secured the title of ACT Superclass Champion and took 6th place in the Men's U23 Category at the National Championships in November.
But that's not all - Luke is also a certified BMX coach, sharing his expertise with the next generation of riders. Whether he's on the track or in the coaching zone, his passion for BMX and commitment to the community are clear.
We're proud to have Luke as one of our scholarship recipients, his dedication and accomplishments make him a true inspiration for athletes in Tuggeranong and beyond.

Meet Sophia Martinussen, a rising star in the netball world
Sophia has long represented the Tuggeranong Netball Association and the ACT with pride, showcasing her unwavering skill and dedication.
Her journey reached new heights in 2022 when she earned a coveted spot on the U17's Australian Squad, a testament to her consistent excellence.
Netball Australia recognised her as an 'Emerging Elite Athlete' in both 2022 and 2023. Sophia's dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed, earning her the prestigious Vikings Group Affiliate Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding contributions to netball and her community.
Additionally, Sophia has been honoured with the role of Captain for the U17’s ACT team for 2024. Congratulations, Sophia! Your accomplishments are truly inspiring.
